Mazda rolls out 2020 MX-5 R Sport in the UK
The Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer, Mazda has rolled out the limited edition MX-5 R Sport in the UK with the prices beginning from £27,700. Production of the car will be limited to 150 units only. The company has said that no minimum deposit will be required to book the car.
Managing Director of Mazda UK, Jeremy Thomson, said that he is delighted to offer an exclusive convertible model of the MX-5 to customers. The latest model joins the rest of the RF and convertibles in the lineup. Anyone hunting for a stylish and distinctive looking roadster, he said, will love the 2020 MX-5 R Sport.
Thomson claimed that the present generation MX-5 has already become a benchmark in sports cars. Both the 2020 Mazda MX-5 and the limited R-Sport edition, he said, will continue to be one of the most satisfying and exciting cars to drive.
The new MX-5 R Sport is based on the 2020 MX-5 Sport model. The car is hauled by a SkyActiv-G, 4-cylinder, 1.5 litre petrol motor which produces 132 PS maximum power and 152 Nm of peak torque. The motor is mated to a 6-speed manual gear system and the car comes in a front-wheel-drive version.
The limited edition 2020 MX-5 R Sport gets a Polymetal Grey metallic colour scheme. It matches a grey coloured soft-top. The colour scheme extends to the 16-inch gunmetal alloy wheels. The glossed-out black wing mirrors give the car a touch of contrast. The cabin sports burgundy Nappa leather seats with silver stitching.
The car also gets a 7.0-inch Mazda Connect touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Other features include traction control, multi-zone air-conditioning, and standard safety features.
The deliveries of the limited-run roadster will begin soon in the UK. However, the local launch of the model is not known at the moment.
