The Mazda 2 Hatch is available in Singapore in two different variants – Standard and Deluxe, both of which are being offered in colour options like Sonic Silver, Ceramic Metallic, Deep Crystal Blue, Deep Crimson, Soul Red Crystal, Eternal Blue, Dynamic Blue, Machine Grey, Jet Black, and Snowflake White.

On the inside, the Mazda 2 Hatch simply has the plushest and premium cabin a compact hatchback has offered ever. The traditional Mazda philosophy of keeping things minimalist yet classy has been carried out in the cabin as well.
While the three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel looks and feels nice to hold, the three-part instrument console with a round speedometer in between makes the driver’s vision very appealing.
The rest of the dashboard looks very simple yet elegant, with a pop-up style rectangular touchscreen infotainment system at the top of the dashboard. This clean upper dashboard design is well complemented with simple-looking round AC vents, a sleek chrome finish in the middle of the dashboard and a lower dashboard finished in soft-touch leather. The lower centre console as well as buttons for climate control look premium for a car of this class.
With features like leather upholstery, auto cruise control, push-button start with keyless entry, and height adjustment for driver’s seat, the Mazda 2 Hatch feels decently kitted for its price too.
2 Hatchback Exterior
The Mazda 2 Hatch belongs to the entry-level compact hatchback category, which in recent times, has witnessed many remarkable designs. The major credits for bringing this change surely should go to the Mazda 2 Hatch, for the timeless and big car appeal it has brought to masses.
Like all the other Mazda offerings, the Mazda 2 Hatch has a curvy and aerodynamic design, and the family lineage is pretty evident when you see this car head-on. The curved front grille with slightly tapered edges gives it a traditional Mazda fascia. The sweptback curved headlamps are joined to the front grille with a sleek chrome element, while the fog lamps down on the front bumper too get a nice chrome garnish.
The Mazda 2 Hatch looks extremely curvaceous when viewed from the sides, with prominent curved bulges above the front as well as rear fenders. The alloy wheel design too looks very sporty, despite not being the in-trend machined units, and so does the door-mounted rearview mirrors.
At the back, the rounded roofline and slightly curved C-pillar design end up in a funky looking rear design, which has a sharply raked windscreen with a spoiler above it. The triangular tail lamps with rounded edges and a clean design for the boot lid do make the rear design look simple yet noteworthy.

The Mazda 2 not only looks smooth and curvy but when it comes to driving appeal, it continues that character in the way it drives as well. The Macpherson struts at the front and torsion beam axle at the rear are on a stiffer side, but they do make up for a spirited driving experience, complemented well with the perfectly weighted steering.

The Mazda 2 Hatch sources its power from a compact and conventional 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine under its hood. With a 6-speed automatic gearbox offered as standard, this engine pumps out a respectable 115 PS of maximum power output and 148 Nm of peak torque output.
