After a pretty disappointing second generation of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class, and the company not being able to make a hit with the series, the new generation B-Class from Mercedes-Benz is all reinvented and redesigned. While people carriers might not be a very fashionable choice in modern times, the Mercedes Benz B-Class clearly stands out amongst its competitors in the Singaporean market.
The all-new B-Class is unpretentious, super urbane, and a superb package of comfort, safety, and quality. With the uncompromising feel of luxury characteristic to Mercedes-Benz, the 2019 model is now a little more stretched, a little more flexible, and a lot more dynamic when it comes to the overall styling. With major changes like wheel positioning that have moved closer to the four corners, the car has been reinvented with a more dynamic as well as aggressive styling with an un-SUV appearance.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class Interior & Features
The interiors of the B-Class are absolutely splendid and exactly what you expect of a Merc! Both the cabin as well as the second row is adequately spacious with enough legroom for the driver and passengers. The boot space is also quite commendable with up to 1540 litres of capacity with the seats folded.
The cabin is a classic Merc design, with superior upholstery and really comfortable and cushy seats. The cabin offers a premium modern ambience with variable LED mood lighting and a two-tone fascia which is a blend of quality plastics and intelligently placed metallic inserts.
The car features two 10.25-inch tablet-style displays that are placed side by side. The infotainment system is on the left and the instrument cluster is on the right. The finger pad and palm rest allow easy navigation of the car features and functions and the overall design is logical, practical, and ergonomic.
B-Class Exterior
The Mercedes-Benz B-Class comes in two different trims which are the 200 Progressive and 200 AMG Line. And the car manufacturers did not try to do anything extraordinary to the exteriors of the new generation B-Class. The car still has a very simplistic appearance that has been reinvented with a more dynamic design. The chassis of the car is a big improvement from the previous generation and had contributed towards a finer balance between ride and handling.
Mercedes-Benz B-Class Ride & Handling
The Mercedes-Benz B-Class is designed for comfort and safety. The suspension does a really good job at all speeds and feels really comfortable and smooth across different kinds of roads. With the wheels being placed closer to the four corners, the car is much easier to steer around corners. The steering response is excellent and feels very balanced even at high speeds.
The redesigned chassis offers distinct stability to the car and makes it perfect for long highway rides. The B-Class AMG Line has a multi-link rear suspension that offers superb refinement, which might be missing on the low-power base models that come with a torsion beam.
B-Class Engine & Fuel Consumption
The car features an inline-4, 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine has 16 valves and produces 163 hp of maximum power at 5500 rpm and 223 Nm of peak torque at 1620-4000 rpm. The engine is coupled to a 7G dual-clutch transmission which is super smooth. The car has a pretty decent and impressive performance even at low revs, with a quite decent sound and acceleration going from 0 to 100 in 8.2 seconds. The car has a top speed of 223 kmph and returns a mileage of 17.5 kmpl.
Mercedes-Benz B-Class Braking & Safety
The driver assistance package on the car makes it super safe and a very supportive one for drivers. The standard collision prevention system works well with the hydraulic disc brakes in the front and rear that can bring the vehicle to stop pretty efficiently even at high speeds.

If you are looking for Mercedes comfort and safety and a compact package of performance and luxury, then the B-Class might just be the perfect car for you.
