Toyota introduces 2022 Fortuner GR Sport in Indonesia

Toyota is a brand that has earned its name by producing sustainable cars that can defy any odds. However, it wasn’t long before the arrival of the Fortuner on global platforms that Toyota Indonesia has announced the new GR Sport range.

As per the news, this new range of sport offerings will be replacing the ongoing TRD Sportivo lineup in the country. Following the reveal of its Avanza Veloz GR Limited and the renamed Wigo GR Sport, the automaker officially launched the 2022 Fortuner GR Sport, for the first time without its camouflage.

From the looks of it, the car only gets bigger and better with a unique Gazoo Racing-inspired body kit and features. Overall, the beast of a car now looks more aggressive with dark chrome accents which are present throughout the body of this redesigned beast.

Now, talking of the looks of the vehicle, it gets all suited up in a dark chrome grille, paired with unique bumpers that are exclusive to the GR Sport version. Further, adding to the sporty appeal of this SUV, the car now fancies new 18-inch alloy wheels that also remain exclusive to the model, reminding everyone of the GR Sport Fortuner model.

To further add to the appeal of the car, the automaker has included the GR Sport badge on the tailgate and GR stickers along the rear section of the car. Additional convenience features in the 2022 Fortuner include a kick-sensing hands-free tailgate.

Talking about the powertrain options of the 2022 Fortuner, the car is available in two trim levels; comprising of the 4×2 2.7 GR Sport A/T and the 4×2 2.4 GR Sport A/T. The higher trim is powered by a 2.7L inline-four petrol engine churning out 163hp and 247Nm of torque, while the other trim gets a 2.4L turbodiesel that makes 149hp and 400Nm of torque.

Lastly, the interior of the car also includes rich features like a nine-inch multimedia head unit with voice command, near-field communication (NFC) device compatibility, and smartphone connectivity, among others.
