2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe leaked ahead of official debut

It’s finally here! The 2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe is unofficially revealed ahead of its global debut later this week. The leaked image of the next-generation 2 Series Coupe is making rounds on the internet, presenting the coupe as sharper, edgier, and more refined in terms of its appeal.

The image that surfaced on the internet was posted by the photographer @wilcoblok on his Instagram profile. Looking at the uploaded picture, the latest image of the BMW 2 Series Coupe looks like a screenshot that was taken from one of the official BMW videos for the new 2 Series.

 The forthcoming model that was tipped to be codenamed as the G42, will be appearing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, set for this week. The image that is believed to be the range-topping M240i variant, presents the 2 Series Coupe covered in a deep shade of purple.  

As visible over different spy shots that surfaced on the internet over the past few months, there was one revealing leak in April 2020 that presented us with a redesigned BMW 2 Series. 

The new design feature of the car highlights a new grille design where it has successfully eliminated the buck-toothed grille treatment that was previously applied to the new M3/M4 duo and the 4 Series family. The upcoming car is expected to feature a pair of kidney-shaped grilles that is expected to look larger in size than the ongoing models.

However, the leaked image fails to provide us with a look of the rear end of the upcoming 2 Series. However, we are expecting 3D LED tail lights, dual exhaust tips, a black boot lid spoiler, and a black lower diffuser.

Lastly, talking of the expected engine specifications, the 2 Series Coupe might be powered by a selection of three-, four- and six-cylinder engines. Further, we can also expect the car to come with diesel options.
