The BMW X5 is a technologically rich car. It has the BMW Operating System 7.0 and Live Cockpit Professional (instrument display). The latter comprises a 12.3-inch semi-polygonal tachometer and speedometer that look stylishly futuristic. Gesture control is still present in the X5. But this time, the car recognizes two additional gestures. BMW has bettered the X5’s ride quality with the standard dynamic dampers and air suspension. I experienced a cushy ride on the test car which had 21-inch wheels. The new powered tailgate makes load-hauling on the X5 more convenient. The car can lower its derriere by 40mm to enable better packing of luggage.
