Performance-oriented Volkswagen Polo GTI leaked ahead of tomorrow’s debut

It was not long before Volkswagen pulled the wraps off its sixth-gen facelifted Polo in Europe.  While the brand had made a claim of releasing its facelifted GTI variant in the upcoming weeks, the images of the same have now been leaked ahead of its official release.  

The images reveal has given us a complete look at the upcoming car, ahead of its official reveal in a few hours. According to that, the car seems to have received a heavy cosmetic makeover. The exterior of the car now resonates with more aggressive and sporty styling. Overall, the exterior of the car of the updated Polo gets a few tweaks around GTI-specific touches. 

The front fascia gets a completely refreshed bumper, headlamps, and overall styling lines. However, the USP of the design highlight is the renewed VW logo. The new design concept by the automaker also adds a fair bit to the illumination setting with a redesigned front grille and sharper bi-LED headlamps. The car gets an illuminated LED strip that travels across the grille. The illuminated light setting in the grille section of the car creates an appealing visual connection between the two given LED DRLs. All of the design features, when put together, make the VW Polo look identical to its Golf sibling.

Under the hood, the 2021 Polo GTI is expected to retain the outgoing model’s 198 hp/320 Nm 2.0L turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic.

While the automaker has decided to lay low on the interior design feature of the car, we are expecting the car’s interior to carry design features, similar to its standard model. We might see an interior with a few splashes of red in the upholstery stitching.
