Lamborghini Urus gets a new Pearl Capsule edition

Italian luxury automobile manufacturer Lamborghini, in an attempt to make the Urus sports utility vehicle (SUV) more attractive to customers, has introduced a new Pearl Capsule edition which will be available in its 2021 model year version. The Pearl Capsule trim has been designed by Lamborghini’s Centro Stile customization wing and packs in some minor enhancements to lend the SUV a more dynamic look. There are also a few equipment updates.

The engine of the new edition remains unchanged with the twin-turbojet, 4.0-litre V8 unit which produces 650 PS maximum power and 850 Nm peak torque. The motor is mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel-drive. Lamborghini claims that the car can reach 0-100 kmph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 305 kmph.

The Urus Pearl Capsule version gets a two-tone exterior theme. It sports the company’s traditional four-layer, high-glossed colours that include Verde Manti (green), Giallo Inti (yellow), and Arancio Borealis (orange). A high-gloss black finish is applied on the rear diffuser, roof, side mirror caps, and the spoiler lip. The exhaust outlets are finished in matte grey, while the 23-inch alloy wheels get a high-gloss black treatment. The wheel rims sport body-coloured accents.

The interior of the Urus Pearl Capsule edition gets a two-tone look. The seats get hexagonal-shaped upholstery stitching with Q-Citura logo embroidery. The detailing has been done in black anodized aluminum and carbon fibre black. Lamborghini has lent air perforation to the optional, fully electric sears for additional comfort.

Besides the Pearl Capsule package, the 2021 Urus also gets a Grigio Keres grey metallic finish which joins the three new colours. The company has an on-site, dedicated paint workshop which it opened last year. The workshop offers more colour choices to potential customers. The new edition comes with an optional, updated Parking Assistant package, and a new Sensonum audio unit which has a 730-watt amplifier and 17 speakers.

Lamborghini claims that it has sold more than 8,300 units of the Urus SUV, since the car was first launched in December 2017. While grey has been the preferred colour for most customers, the trademark yellow is a close second.
