Competent performer
The Toyota Harrier is a rather competent performer. It’s powerful, spacious and easy to handle. The cabin space is good and there’s a premium feel to it. The Harrier shares it powertrain with the Lexus NX. The normal driving mode is more than adequate to haul the 1.7-tonne SUV. The sports mode, on the other hand, helps you overtake and merge into traffic. There’s a bit of body roll inside the cabin. But that’s felt only you’re turning corners at a speed. It doesn’t compromise the ride quality. The car is rather long but the wheelbase is short.
