The Kia Sorento is currently serving as the flagship SUV from the Korean carmaker in Singapore and has proved to be a strong product in terms of practicality and extensive features it offers. In Singapore, the Kia Sorento is available with two different engine options in both of its variants – SX and GT Line, both of which can be had in one of the seven colour options to choose from – Snow White, Silky Silver, Gravity Blue, Rich Espresso, Steel Grey, Platinum Graphite and Aurora Black.
On the inside, the cabin of the Kia Sorento looks plush, though the overall layout and design of a couple of panels have begun to exhibit their age. The dual-tone black and beige upholstery do enhance the sense of airiness and luxury appeal.
The four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel looks a bit dated, however, the large instrument console with a MID screen tucked inside the speedometer looks nice and comprehensive. The centre console of the dashboard looks wide, with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with trapezoidal AC vents on its either sides encased in a large rounded rectangular panel surrounded by the premium faux aluminum finish. The slightly protruding panel for the buttons of automatic climate control looks archaic, though. The fine layer of faux wood flowing through the width of the dashboard looks good to the eyes.
The Kia Sorento has got plenty of space for the first and second rows, however, the third row lacks legroom and under-thigh support. With plenty of features like a large panoramic sunroof, push-button start with keyless entry, rear AC vents, electric parking brake, leather upholstery, and powered driver’s seat, the Kia Sorento feels properly pampering on the inside.
The Kia Sorento has undoubtedly got a commanding road presence to boast of, which gives it a premium appeal to it. However, this very premium appeal’s shine is taken away by the slightly dated curvy styling which lacks the modernity of current day SUVs.
Nevertheless, the Kia Sorento looks welcoming with a wide ‘tiger-nose’ grille which looks premium with the jewel-studded theme. The curved tri-projector headlamps attached to the front grille’s side edges are placed at an angle. The vertical fog lamp housings encase small LED fog lamps with bulbs shaped in a squared manner, like in all the other premium Kia cars.
The elongated wheelbase of the Kia Sorento along with the slightly curved roofline and the sloping bonnet is a slight departure from the traditional upright SUVs. The doors lack any kind of character lines, but the rounded wheel arches along with lower edges of the doors do get tough-looking body cladding to give it a rugged look to it.
The rear profile of the Kia Sorento has a sense of Kia Carnival in its design, with a broad layout consisting of a large windscreen, big tail lamps with curved edges, and a sizeable license plate housing. All these together give it an impression of a MUV rather than that of an SUV.
The Kia Sorento has got a praiseworthy ride quality for all kinds of surfaces, thanks to its supple suspension setup. However, the standard front-wheel drive curbs its off-road driveability a bit. The body roll too can be felt at higher speeds, though it is not as prominent as in other ladder-on-frame SUVs.
The Kia Sorento has a choice of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The 2.4-liter petrol engine, coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, produces 188 PS of power and 241 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 2.2-litre diesel engine makes 200 PS of power and 441 Nm of torque and is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The Kia Sorento might be a slightly dated SUV in visual appeal, but it has got many latest safety amenities, ranging from the front, side and curtain airbags, front and rear parking sensors, electronic parking brake, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, smart park assist system, downhill brake control, a rearview camera, and tire pressure monitoring system.
The Kia Sorento might be a slightly boring vehicle to look at as well as in its overall visual appeal on the inside. However, this is surely one of the most affordable luxury SUVs which shows no compromise in the number of features and comfort it packs in.
I have had the Kia Sorento for over years now. And while the design language and the cabin don’t feel like their nifty and quirky 2022 counterparts, they do the job and are ageing like fine wine. Even with more than 100,000 miles already on the odometer, I have never faced a single big issue with the Sorento. Instead, I
Finally, I could come across a decent medium-sized SUV car, just the type I had been in search for years now. What allured me the most about the vehicle is its plush interior setup. The seats are designed in such a way that the comfort factor remains in its optimum state. The infotainment system of the vehicle is intuitive and
I purchased my Kia Sorento six months ago as the unique features and the performance delivered by this beast were really impressive for me. I have covered almost 2000 kms in these couple of months as I use this vehicle for my daily commute to the workplace as well as occasional long trips in the our-skirts of the city. Kia
The Kia Sorento is one of those SUVs that is packed with features and is powerful as well. The premium looks of this car are what make it one of the flagship offerings by the brand. Being an active entrepreneur in my 30’s, practicality is what I was looking for in my purchase, and turns out that the Sorento provided
Kia Sorento is indeed one of the best SUVs I have ever own up to date. Having a family of six, I needed an excellent SUV for comfortable riding, and Sorento ensures that. However, the third-row seating is not that spacious, manageable only for kids. If we overlook that fact, it certainly is a good car for the price it
This car is an absolute beast when it comes to SUVs. With its 3 rows and a punchy look, my Sorento is an absolute charm. I opted for the Aurora Platinum Graphite color out of the 8 colors that are available in Singapore. The car comes packed with all the safety features as an Anti-theft alarm and engine Immobilizer out
Talk about a utility-filled 7-seater car and the Kia Sorento will come to your mind. If you don’t consider it as a great car, let me tell you why you should. Firstly, the design is top-class. I guess the design was the first attraction that pulled me to buy the car at first. Then comes the features inside the cabin.
There are very few SUVs in Singapore that can compete with the elegance and comfort of the Kia Sorento. This premium SUV offers a lot of comfort and performance to its user along with a plethora of safety features. Though I usually take my Sorento out over weekends, it is very comfortable for everyday drive as well. There are ample
