Toyota C-HR Interior & Features

The interior cabin of the Toyota C-HR looks as positively quirky as it looks on the outside, with an asymmetrical design for the dashboard. The all-black cabin gets silver accents which add to the sporty appeal of the overall vehicle.

The three-spoke multi-functional steering gets very small but wide spokes and a large centre boss, which forms a unique driver’s cockpit along with a relatively higher mounted instrument console within a wide scooped housing.

The offset housings for the touchscreen infotainment system as well as one for the automatic climate control below it look nice and different. A flowing theme has been executed for the co-passenger side of the dashboard as well as the transmission tunnel below.

The Toyota C-HR is amply sized to seat five, however, the roofline eats up some amount of headroom at the back. A decent set list of features including powered driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, push-button start with keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers and cruise control glorify the C-HR’s cabin.

C-HR Exterior

Among all the conventional-looking crossovers in the market, the Toyota C-HR carves a niche of its own with its super sharp and edgy design language. This design, being the most aggressively styled Toyota SUV ever, is a sure shot head turner.

The Toyota C-HR gets a pair of very large Y-shaped sweptback headlamps, which do come with LED projector units and distinctive looking daytime running LEDs. The very short and tiny sleek black bar joining the headlamps form the front grille here. The front bumper too looks aggressive with sharp recesses on either side and tucked in fog lamps on the outer edges of the air dam in it.

It is the side profile of the Toyota C-HR, which gives it an even edgier appeal with a sharply raking down roofline and aggressive and prominent character lines besides the fenders and across the door panels. Adding even more sporty appeal to the sides of the SUV are hidden door handles in the tiny C-pillar. The rounded wheel arches as well as five-spoke alloy wheels look rather plain as compared to the rest of the design.

At the rear, the Toyota C-HR carries forward the swanky appeal with a sharply raked windscreen with a very large roof spoiler above it and boomerang-shaped tail lamps, with a curved and wide design for the boot lid.

Toyota C-HR Ride & Handling

The Toyota C-HR is fitted with Macpherson struts at the front and double wishbone at the rear. Given the sporty aura of the SUV, the ride quality is on a firmer side, but at the same time, it feels very enjoyable to drive with precise steering giving a good company.

C-HR Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Singapore market gets the Toyota C-HR with a sole engine and transmission combination of a 1.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine coupled to a 7-speed CVT gearbox. The engine pumps out a maximum power output of 115 PS, while the peak torque output is rated at 185 Nm.

Toyota C-HR Braking & Safety

The Toyota C-HR is armed with a significant amount of safety features like front, side, curtain and knee airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, blind-spot monitoring system, dynamic radar cruise control, vehicle stability control, traction control, hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors and rearview camera.

C-HR Verdict

The Toyota C-HR, with its sporty appeal and edgy design, is crafted to attract the hearts of the young minds who prefer a certain level of extroverted character in their vehicle. The modern-day turbocharged petrol engine and agile driving dynamics only add to the overall new generation experience of the SUV.
