Leaked Bentley Bentayga facelift images appear online

The Bentley Bentayga seems to be all set to get its first-ever facelift since it was first introduced five years ago. Pictures of what appears to be a facelift version of the luxury SUV recently went viral on the internet through an Instagram account @wilcoblock. The Bentayga facelift, if the images are to be believed, will sport a subtle refresh.

The exterior of the facelift Bentayga sports a number of noticeable changes. The headlights are now oval-shaped instead of the circular units earlier. The design has been tweaked and will match that of the Flying Spur and Continental GT, two other ultra-luxury cars from Bentley. The air intakes at the lower corner, meanwhile, appear bigger and seem to have been reshaped. The lower part of the front grille no longer flanks the extreme edges of the front fascia. The bumper of the facelift version has larger fog lamp surrounds that have the same mesh-type look.

While it’s still not clear what the car’s interior will look like, the new Bentayga is expected to have a fully digital multi-information display dominating the dashboard. The absence of physical buttons means that the car will have a touchscreen system which will be a welcome update over the archaic-looking unit seen in the car’s current version. It’s unlikely to be the rotating central display unit found in the sedan and coupe models.

The Crewe-headquartered company is yet to reveal the powertrain configuration of the 2021 Bentayga. The car, in all probability, will retain the V8 twin-turbocharged W12 petrol motor. A turbocharged, plug-in hybrid V6 powertrain is likely to be available as an option. That aside, a twin-turbocharged V8 diesel engine is also expected to be available on the refreshed luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Images of the Bentayga’s mid-cycle revision have revealed new angular-type central air vents that flank the infotainment screen. The pictures show a four-seat cabin but five-seat and seven-seat options are likely to be offered as before.

While the company has not yet revealed the price of the facelift Bentayga, the car’s current version is priced at around $719,000 in the Singapore market. Bentley is expected to make a formal announcement soon.
