Geely unveils Xing Rui for the Chinese market

Geely has recently unveiled its production model which is based on the Preface Concept sedan. The event took place at the 2020 Beijing Auto Show as a virtual event for the global platform.

Previously, the car was released as a wide car with equal proportions of width in its design feature. The car showcased a wide wheel track and a delicately balanced design language, created by Geely Design.

Talking of its present offering, the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) based sedan is a model under the Geely 4.0 Era. The era represents fourth-generation of models which resemble modular architectures, and advanced connectivity along with safety features and quality build as their standard.

Named Xing Rui, “Xing” is another word for star in Chinese whilst “Rui” on the other hand represents a good omen for the future. Besides that, Geely means ‘everything in China’. Moreover, the Xing Rui is the second car based on CMA.

Talking about its upcoming offering, Geely Auto Group president An Conghui exclaimed, “The Geely Xing Rui marks a new journey for the Geely Auto brand as it brings CMA technologies into the sedan segment, perfectly maintaining Geely Auto’s balance in both SUV and sedan segments. The Preface is a disruptor which makes no compromises in terms of quality, design, technology, space, and value”.

On its exterior, Xing Rui resembles a similar style like the concept car. The production vehicle adapts to the expanding cosmos grille, larger alloy wheels, and an overall wider styling across the car to add to its road presence.

Powering the car is a 2.0L turbocharged engine that comes mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automated gearbox. Developed by Geely and Volvo, the official figures that this engine makes has not yet been disclosed by the automaker.

Lastly, the cabin resonates to a minimalist approach with its dual colour upholstery and reduced NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) characteristics. The vehicle also features over the air (OTA) updates to keep it upgraded with the latest tech.
