Widely regarded as one of the finest driver’s cars the world has ever witnessed, the Porsche 911 needs no introduction. The two-door sports car which has made Porsche a highly revered brand among enthusiasts all over the world, the Porsche 911 is the flagship sports car from the German car marquee. In its current iteration, the Porsche 911 range has a variety of options to choose from, including 911 Carrera, 911 Carrera 4, 911 Carrera S, 911 Carrera 4S, 911 Targa 4, 911 Targa 4S, 911 Carrera GTS, 911 Carrera 4 GTS and 911 Targa 4 GTS. Save for the Targa models, all these versions of 911 also get open-top cabriolet models.
The Porsche 911 easily has the most modern-looking cabin among all the Porsches on sale in the market right now. The clever use of traditional elements with modern bits makes the cabin look modern and classy at the same time.
The Porsche 911 gets the same three-spoke sporty multi-functional steering wheel from other Porsche models. However, this car gets an all-new TFT instrument console with a nice centrally placed analogue tachometer giving it a traditional touch. The layered design for the rest of the dashboard, with a neatly recessed rectangular 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre console and toggle-like switches above the central AC vents, make the cabin look neat and classy. The high-mounted centre transmission tunnel looks great with all the necessary buttons and dials for various functions, all of which are within easy reach of the driver.
The Porsche 911 is one of those rare sports cars, which has managed to look extremely good and possess a strong road presence, without looking extravagant or out-of-the-box. The overall styling, which has always remained evolutionary, is in its sleekest and most modern form in the current avatar. The overall looks of the Porsche 911 are sublime, and that’s what makes it one of the classiest looking sports cars in the world.
At the front, the simple fascia of the Porsche 911 has a sloping front bonnet, with curved sloping bulges over the rounded headlamp clusters on either side. These headlamps, like in all modern Porsches, come integrated with single LED projectors and quad daytime running LEDs around the projectors. The front bumper of the Porsche 911 looks wide and massive with the wide air dam and air intakes, with sleek LED turn indicator strips mounted on the upper corners of the front bumper.
Even in the current iteration, the Porsche 911 retains the rounded sloping down roofline and flared fenders, which give it a lowered and planted stance. The iconic two-door look with door-mounted rearview mirrors is in sync with the overall aerodynamic design of the 911. At the back, the Porsche 911 has got sleek and horizontally stretched LED tail lamps, which are adjoined to each other with a long LED strip and a black stripe across the width of the boot. Like in other Porsches, the black strip here houses the name of the model and variant. There are additional parallel brake lights mounted at the bottom of the sloping rear windscreen, which is a nice touch.
There is a good reason why the Porsche 911 is widely accepted as one of the finest cars to drive. The 911 has Porsche Traction Management, Porsche Torque Vectoring, Porsche Active Suspension Management, Porsche Stability Management, Rear Axle Steering, and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, all of which work in sync to offer a perfect and harmonious driving experience.
The Porsche 911 range has a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine as the standard powertrain, which is available in a different state of tune in all of them. The standard model (Carrera, Carrera 4 and Targa 4) makes 385 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque, the ‘S’ variants (Carrera S, Carrera 4S, and Targa 4S) produce 450 PS of power and 530 Nm of torque and the GTS variants (Carrera GTS, Carrera 4 GTS, and Targa 4 GTS) deliver 480 PS of power and 570 Nm of torque. An 8-speed PDK automatic gearbox serves as the standard transmission option in all of them.
Apart from the standard safety features like front and side airbags, ABS with EBD, active brake assist, and traction control, the Porsche 911 has a range of other driver assistance systems, like adaptive cruise control, lane keeps assist, Porsche Wet mode with added traction levels, Park Assist with surround view and many more.
The Porsche 911 is one of the best cars money can buy, for it offers an exotic yet elegant design and out, powerful engine, and a dreamy chassis, which makes it one great driver’s car.
This is one of the most esteemed luxury sports cars that I might have come across. The car can win hearts for numerous reasons. Its acceleration capacity is fairly enticing. Handling prowess is again pretty standard. Overall a car with an impeccable standard is worth considering while one decides to buy a premium quality car. I was intrigued by its
The Porsche 911 has long been one of my dream cars and I am glad to have finally been able to make it! What I love the most about this car is that it is a master of looks and sportiness, packed with comfort. If you talk solely about the engine, the car is a hit there as well! Being
Owning a Porsche is a huge deal, and when it's a Porsche 911, the feeling is euphoric. I fell short of words to describe this fantastic coupe. The car is simply perfect from all aspects, be it appearance, interior, or performance. Equipped with a humongous engine, the beauty takes just a couple of seconds to deliver a beast-like performance. My
Owning a Porsche has been a dream come true for me. The previous car I owned was an Audi TT and wanted to upgrade with a cabriolet convertible. What could be better than the Porsche 911 Cabriolet. The 6-cylinder engine has two turbochargers that increase the performance to a great extent. Also, the 8-speed gearbox shifts very smoothly and has
Porsche 911 has lived up to the expectation, and that's what I love the most about my car. It has a timeless design, which is nothing but the embodiment of elegance and luxury. I have the twin-turbo six-cylinder engine under the hood, which gives 911 the power to drive like a sports car and an 8-speed Porsche Soppelkupplung transmission system.
The 911 was introduced decades back, but even today, this sports car has been able to maintain its reputation, thanks to its adaptive design, powerful engine and an enthralling driving experience. I have never owned a 911 but I do wish to have one in my garage in near future. However, I have had the opportunity of driving my colleague’s
