Latest Update: The 2023 version of the Jeep Renegade was recently spotted testing and it comes with a slight redesign on the exterior as well as interior. This updated version of the Renegade will go on sale in the first quarter of 2022 in the US. As for Singapore, the Renegade is still available in its 2020 variant and comes priced at S$ 136,999.

The new Jeep Renegade was released in Singapore a few months back with a whole redesigned interior and exterior features. The Jeep Renegade brings the classic Jeep styling and the American carmakers have skillfully blended the classic styling with modern redesigning and a set of advanced technologies.
The new Jeep Renegade is a compact SUV built for Singaporeans who want to enjoy a superior off-roading experience. Quite naturally, the Renegade has been a sensation in the Singapore market. From attractive styling and a great appearance to capable driving dynamics, Jeep has brought forward a car that is futuristic, modern and yet carries the genes of the traditional Jeep brand.
The smallest SUV in Jeep’s lineup comes in two variants, which are: the Jeep Renegade Longitude 1.4L FWD and the Jeep Renegade 1.4 Limited FWD. Let us take a look at the modern, compact, practical 7-seater SUV packs in it to be one of the best-selling vehicles from Jeep.
Jeep Renegade Interior & Features
Inside the compact crossover, you will surprisingly find a very spacious and luxurious cabin that is dominated by the black colour and chrome accents. The molded seats are covered with durable fabric and high quality, smooth to touch plastic. The interior is very well-thought and organised and the angled dashboard comes with all contemporary necessities. You get an ample 351 litres of space and folding the rear seats will open up spaces of up to 1,297 litres.
The infotainment system is made of a seven-inch TFT display with Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity. The system is intuitive and has a logical menu, sharp graphics, and a range of shortcut buttons. You can also use apps from your phone like Google Maps, Waze, as well as Spotify for music.
Renegade Exterior
The Jeep Renegade is an excellently designed subcompact crossover that carries many traditional Jeep styling cues. Starting from the round headlights, to the 7-slat grille and square taillights, the vehicle is a great blend of classic styling with a modern body. The Renegade looks aggressive and rugged and being a compact crossover SUV it is 4,232 mm long, 1,804 mm wide, and 1,684 mm tall.
The Renegade comes with chrome highlights depending on the variant and a special, very wide air intake which effectively assists in engine cooling.
The crossover has all the right curves and lines to enhance its aerodynamic capabilities and has a top with a removable panel sunroof.
The rear side of the vehicle features an angular design that adds to the overall appeal of the car. The silver-painted aluminum wheels and 17-inch wheels (18-inch on the top variant) adds grace and aggression to the brawny body of the Renegade.
Jeep Renegade Ride & Handling
About the ride and handling, you will have nothing to complain about the Renegade. It is a great car to drive both in the city and on highways, on good roads, bad roads or no roads at all. You can manoeuvre it pretty easily with a very responsive steering and the MacPherson struts and big tyres at each corner make for a pretty comfortable ride.
Renegade Engine & Fuel Consumption
Under the hood of the Renegade, is a 1.4-litre turbocharged MultiAir II petrol engine, that produces 138 hp of power and 230 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The engine is paired to a 6-speed dual automatic transmission system on the FWD variant.
The front-wheel drive crossover comes with Jeep Active Drive and Active Drive Low which enables a dynamic off-road experience and the engine response is pretty zesty through various RPM ranges.
Jeep Renegade Braking & Safety
Safety features like ParkView Rear Back-up Camera and ParkSense Rear Assist System are available on the Renegade along with a range of other features. From anti-lock brakes and six airbags to advanced safety gear such as roll mitigation, electronic stability control, and traction control, Jeep has given priority to safety.
The braking power is commendable and gives the SUV adequate stopping power.

Overall, the smallest crossover SUV from Jeep, is undoubtedly one of the best packages you can get in its segment. The car is amazingly practical with modern technological features intelligently combined with the classic Jeep styling. Overall, the Jeep Renegade rightly deserves its fame amongst Singaporeans.
