First look of Hyundai Mobis’ cockpit concept, COMFI

We all know how concept cars work - new futuristic designs by carmakers that may or may not make it to the real world. But now, there is one special driver cockpit concept that might just be implied shortly!

This new driver’s cockpit concept was released in a short teaser video by Hyundai Mobis. The design looks super impressive from the first look itself and promises to deliver a comfortable drive experience for customers.

The concept is known as COMFI, a representation of all the features it has to offer.  Each letter in the name stands represents a specific attribute; C for Convenient & Comfortable, O for Optimized, M for Movable, F for Functional, and I for Illuminated. Let’s check out what these individual features refer to -.

Firstly, the Convenience & Comfortable factor refers to new features for improved comforts like the digitally retractable smart table on the passenger side and the center console’s projection switch. It also refers to a new parabolic motion of the cockpit’s glove box. The retractable table will offer an embedded keyword to ensure customers can work on the go.

Under the Optimized concept, Hyundai Mobis presents its a Blooming Sound System. There are real wood inserts on the instrument panel with a knob controller under the sliding screen. The sound system will provide speakers that can open independently and on the outward side if required.

Movable refers to the cabin’s moveable parts like the moveable 12.3-inch infotainment system and a moveable steering wheel. There will also be a moveable side camera’s camera monitoring display that can slide into place.

The Function feature refers to a multi-functional electric air vent to provide a wind-free mode for the passengers. Last comes Hyundai Mobis' Illuminated feature, which refers to the cabin’s illuminated parts and 3D pattern ambient lighting.

Hyundai Mobis is the services and parts department of Kia, Genesis, and Hyundai. They mostly deal with manufacturing cockpit, front-end, and chassis modules for the above brands. And occasionally, Hyundai Mobis is involved in after-sales service spare parts and components production for the Hyundai Group.
