All-new 2022 Lexus NX makes its Thai debut

We are all aware of the debut made by the first generation Lexus NX back in June, earlier this year. Interestingly, the automaker seems to make no stops as it has now followed up with the launch of its second-generation Lexus NX in Thailand International Motor Expo. recently.

Sources further indicate that this amazing car will be made available with an electrified powertrain in the country.

The second-generation Lexus NX comes with a plug-in hybrid system called 450h+ that is said to be leveraged from Toyota RAV4 Prime. Experts have appreciated the overall specifications of the engine as the SUV comes with an E10 gasohol-compliant A25A-FXS 2.5 liter naturally aspirated Arkinson cycle engine with four cylinders. This engine is said to have the potential to churn out a maximum power of 182 bhp @ 6000 rpm along with a peak torque of 227 Nm @ 3200 rpm to 3700 rpm.

Additionally, the said mill is coupled with E-CVT and is further enhanced by the front electric motor that is capable of delivering a maximum power of 180 bhp along with a maximum torque of 270 Nm. Lexus NX is also equipped with an electric motor on the car's rear side to facilitate all-wheel drive with a power of 54 bhp and a torque of 121 Nm, adding up to a combined output of 304 bhp.

Evaluating the overall performance of the latest Lexus NX, it is claimed that it can accelerate from a speed of 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds. Further, 450h+ can reach a top speed of 200 kmph. One can rely on the electric motors of Lexus NX 450+ for covering a distance of at least 87 kms as these motors derive their power from an 18.1 kWh, 355.2-volt lithium-ion battery.

For further convenience, the vehicle comes with an AC charger that has the potential to store up to 6.6 kW of power to recharge the battery, which generally takes about 2.5 hours to be fully charged.

Additionally, the SUV comes with four different driving modes: Auto HV/HV, EV, and even battery charging.
