Peugeot Expert Van Review 2024

In 2016, the Peugeot Expert received a full makeover, including a new platform, updated styling, along several new safety equipment. All of this should make the Expert a common option among van buyers in Singapore, though it will face intense competition from a number of strong competitors. As the strength of the vans increases, Peugeot names them BlueHDi 100, BlueHDi 120, BlueHDi 150, and BlueHDi 180, and all come with engine halt technology for fuel-efficiency.

Peugeot Expert Van Interior & Features

The driver's seat is very flexible and one of the most comfortable in a mid-sized van, with comfortable seats for long journeys. It also has a comfortable flat bottom, which means that it won't brush against your knees too much if your steering wheel is lowered. You can change the music, limit the speed and control the cruise all with the control stalks on the steering wheel.

There are two glove boxes on the passenger side, a pair of cupholders, a luggage compartment under the seat, and wide door bins on both sides that provide 49-litre of storage utility space. It does not have a connectivity problem as there are USB connectors and Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

Expert Van Exterior

The Peugeot Expert Van has two sizes for better comfort and flexibility to suit the customer’s needs. The medium length is 4.96m long with 2.5m-3.6m load strength and the long length has 2.8m-4m load strength. It has twin sliding side doors and rear doors, a full steel bulkhead, and 16-inch steel wheels along with automatic headlights ad windscreen wipers. With its attractive and rugged design, the Expert Van surely emits elegance.

Peugeot Expert Van Ride & Handling

The BlueHDi 180's eight-speed automatic transmission feels fast, and the gearbox is super smooth. When pulling out of junctions, it can feel sluggish at times, but when overtaking, it accelerates smoothly. It has paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

The Peugeot Expert is an interesting van to drive. In the corners, there is very little lean, and even though the steering is gentle, it is quite accurate. Furthermore, NVH (noise, vibrations, and harshness) is an environment where the Peugeot Expert has advanced significantly, as the current model is extremely efficient at low speeds, even though noise levels do increase on the highway. Even without a load in the back, the suspension has done an outstanding job of coping with most bumpy roads, proving it to be quite reliable.

The driving position is adequate, but not exceptional, and the cabin has a suffocating feel to it due to the low roof and limited windscreen area.

Expert Van Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Expert Van 2.0 BlueHDi 120 231C has a turbocharged Inline 4 cylinder engine that consumes 5.4-litre per 100 kilometers and weighs 3516 lbs (1595 kgs) at the curb, with a maximum speed of 145km/hr.

At 3750 rpm, this engine produces 122 PS of power and a peak torque of 340 Nm. Front-wheel drive (FWD) with a six-speed manual transmission transmits power to the track.

Peugeot Expert Van Braking & Safety

The Expert-van has an automatic braking system in case it detects an immediate collision and will apply brakes on behalf of the driver. The brake system of Expert Van 2.0 BlueHDi 120 231C has Vented Discs in the front and Discs in the rear for smoothly stopping the car at high speed. It also has adaptive cruise control which enables the engine to adjust its speed with the vehicle in front of it moving in the same direction. It also has an audible lane change warning if the car changes its course over 80km/hr.

The only problem is that it does not have side airbags in the second row to protect children during an accident.

Expert Van Verdict

Apart from the stylish appearance, the Expert-Van provides a car-like driving experience as well as excellent performance and fuel economy. It also has lower operating costs than its competitors and a reliable engine.
