Was pleasantly surprised this GR-S still manages respectable fuel economy despite the sportier suspension and styling upgrades, proving Toyota managed to keep efficiency in mind even with the more spirited character.

Absolutely love driving this GR-S daily but noticed the servicing costs at the authorised centre run a bit higher than what my friend pays for his standard Corolla, likely due to the sportier components involved.

Everything from the panel fit to the switchgear feels a cut above the regular Corolla, Toyota clearly put real effort into making the GR-S trim feel special rather than just a styling package slapped on top.

Enjoy the sportier driving dynamics quite a lot but I do notice more road and tyre noise filtering into the cabin at expressway speeds compared to the standard Corolla trim I test drove before buying.

Take this GR-S up to Johor Bahru most weekends and it has proven to be a genuinely enjoyable road trip car, sporty enough to keep things interesting on the highway while still being practical for luggage.
