2023 Range Rover Sport breaks covers with Pivi Pro ahead of May 10 debut

In a short video spot posted on Twitter by Land Rover, the company showed has shown us all a gloomy image of the forthcoming Range Rover Sport's dashboard as well as a preview of the upcoming SUV's interior.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What are the key highlights of the 2023 Range Rover Sport?

The car features a Pivi Pro floating touchscreen with a large 13.2-inch unit.
  • Further, an image provided by Jaguar shows a headlamp design that is even slimmer than the setup on the outgoing L494-generation model. Additionally, on the inside, we can see a revamped dashboard with what appears to be the Pivi Pro floating touchscreen, which is a 13.2-inch unit with haptic feedback on the full-size L460 Range Rover that made its debut in October 2021. In keeping with the light and minimalist overall design of the new Range Rover, the upcoming model maintains the layout of the Range Rover Sport's centre console with its sloped centre section that meets the centre of the dashboard. Furthermore, the centre console wears metal-look trim on either side, which makes it stand out. Compared to the full-size Range Rover, its centre console is more horizontal, and its dashboard is more upright.

According to reports, it will use the MLA Flex underpinnings of the Range Rover, which were designed for electric drive and can also be used for internal combustion and plug-in hybrid engines with 48-volt electrical architecture.

The Range Rover Sport will therefore possibly feature the same engine lineup as the full-size Range Rover, including an inline-six 3.0-litre petrol engine, an inline-six 3.0L diesel engine, a PHEV 3.0 L inline-six petrol engine, and BMW's 4.4-litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engine, unique to the Range Rover Sport, just as it was to the fifth-generation, L460 Range Rover. It also features the latest transmission selector, which is also found on the Jaguar F-Pace and other current Jaguar Land Rover models.

Land Rover said of the L460 at its launch that it intends to utilize the MLA Flex platform and 48-volt electrics to deliver active roll control with torque deployment of 1,400 Nm in 200 milliseconds via an Integrated Chassis Control setup. The 2023 Range Rover Sport will make its debut on May 10.
